Just Let Him have His Way

John 21:1-12

After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself:

Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.”

And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.
But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish.

Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”

Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” — knowing that it was the Lord.

Sometimes, God’s way for us is kind of weird and doesn’t make any sense. Just like in this chapter; the boys were all out for that night but they came back to the shore with empty hands. A total waste of energy and time. But then there was a Stranger told them to throw the net near the shore. If we think about it, in order to catch a lot of large fish we need to go a lot further into the sea. But the Man told them to throw the net near the shore, and they caught 153 large fishes.

What I got from this chapter is that, don’t ever question God’s way for us in this life; we just need to trust in Him, and this is where faith comes along. Remember, faith means just respond to Him, coming to Him. So much of the Lord’s message to us is come and come to Him. Jesus also said ‘Come’ in verse 12. He really love it when we come to Him 🙂

Secondly, from verse 11, we know that they got 153 fishes. Before, they brought out empty net; but then after the Man asked them to throw the net near the shore, large fishes were caught. What I got from this is that God is there with them in Tiberias. God is there with the boys when they were having a tough daily life. God is there with us. He is Immanuel remember?

Thirdly, what I got from this chapter is that the first one to recognize the Stranger as Jesus Christ is the beloved disciple of Jesus Christ. And so, in order for the veil in our eyes that prevent us to see the glory of God with all the wondrous works in our lives to be opened and so that the Kingdom of God be revealed to us, we need to be intimate with God Himself. With Lord Jesus Christ. To be intimate can also mean to become one with Him. He lives in us and we lives in Him, His Word lives in us and whatever we asked in our prayers will be granted by the Lord. In order for this to happen, we need His sacrifice. We need His Flesh and Blood, for His Flesh is real food and His Blood is real drink.

Hope this can refresh your soul 🙂

Today’s Troubles Sufficient!?

Matthew 6:34

http://biologos.org/uploads/static-content/lily_orange.jpg

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I want to share this with you guys, especially those of you who always, and I mean always, worried about every single thing in this life.

At some part in our lives, we are all a total believer. When someone asked us, ‘do you believe that Jesus Christ has saved you?’ Then we will definitely answer yes. But when someone asked us, ‘do you believe that Jesus Christ will help you out of the mess in your office? Or in your family?’ Then somehow we’d think twice before answering.

From my own experience, we can be a really good believer at one part of our lives, but we are all sucks and have too little faith in another. We are not worried about our own eternal lives, but we are worried over such trivial things like food or clothes or money.

Matthew 6:25-33

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;

and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

It’s true that money, food, clothes, shelter, etc are important aspects in our lives. They’re all our primary needs in this world. And since they were so primary, do you think God didn’t know? But first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all our primary needs and also secondary needs will be added to our charts.

If they’re so primary and vital to our lives, do you think God will not provide? When first Adam and Eve fell to the grasp of sin, God Himself fulfill their needs with clothes. God Himself do this for them, because Adam and Eve were ashamed of their nakedness. Do you think that the same God will not do the same for us? For you? He is more than capable to do that! He is more capable than any of the world’s offer. He is everything we need. He is the Great I AM. He is our Salvation, Redeemer, Best Friend, Best Dad, Best Mom, He is completely everything we need and desire.

Just remember of His goodness and mercy and grace in our lives. How great He is in helping us with every bit of a problem in our lives. Always remember every miracle He gave! Remember, today that we can still live and breathe is the grace of the Lord Jesus Himself. Remember all these, seek Him through worship, not only with our songs but also with every aspects of our lives, and be refreshed 🙂

The Power, The Promise, The Life

I just want to share some beautiful verses today with you guys. And, believe me, it’s a life-changing one!

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;

and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

Also, check out this one:

John 6:51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

And:

John 6:53-56

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Jesus’ flesh is real food and His blood is real drink! He died at the cross for us. He was pierced, crucified, and suffered at the cross so that we may receive His flesh and blood; that we may be saved from the torment He experienced. So that we may live healthily now and then. He said do this as a remembrance of Me. So, every time we have our Holy Communion, we remember His sacrifice at the cross. We remember that He replaced us back then so that we may not die horribly like that. And with this Holy Communion, we live in Him and He lives in us. His Word lives in us and whatever we ask in our prayers shall be granted by Father. But then do remember this verse as well:

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

So, when you receive His flesh and His blood, understand that we proclaim His death till He comes! This Holy Communion has Power and devils are afraid of Jesus’ Blood. This is His Promise to each and everyone of us. This is the everlasting Life He offers! That through His sacrifice, through His Blood, we are saved and refreshed 🙂
