Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.
And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law.
You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.
And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.
I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
Idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
Envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Through this chapter, I spoke to you, all the church in this world. Through this chapter, I spoke to you, all the employees of the church. Through this chapter, I spoke to you, all the church leaders and elders. Through this chapter, I spoke to you, all the servants of God in this world. And through this chapter, I spoke to you, the congregation of the church in this whole wide world.
As we all know, churches has grown so large nowadays. There are so many of them now and some of them can be considered as “megachurch”. This, at some point, can be viewed as good since Christianity is developing so well in this world; bringing more and more people to God. But is it true? Does a big church guarantees our salvation? Does a big church, or, I might say, a “modernized” church with “modernized” praise and worship songs guarantees our way to the Lord? Not exactly I’d say. This chapter from Galatians spoke right to the nowadays’ condition in the church.
Churches nowadays has grown so large; and because of that, churches began to grow more and more like an organizations. The senior pastor, or you might say, the shepherd of the flocks in the church, began to be more like a manager instead of a shepherd that leads and guides the flocks with a warming presence. The flocks didin’t really know who they shepherd was, and vice versa. And since the church has grown more like a “business” organization, there were a lot of conflicts, unhealthy competitions for a mere status in the church, stealing money from the church, and all kinds of things that you can imagine happening nowadays at your church.
And now I spoke especially to you, all the servants of God and the congregations of the church. If you are now successful and live a paradise on earth, do not forget about the Lord that helped you in the first place! You would never reach the place where you are at right now if it’s not for the Lord’s grace and mercy! Look at these verses:
Deuteronomy 8:17 – 20
then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’
“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.
As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God.
Othere gods here can also be your job, your status at the church, your girlfriend or boyfriend, or, literally, other gods of this world. Money can be your god, and this happened in most case, even in the church. You serve and serve at the church but only after money. Don’t you realize that the one who owns money, status, and everything you could possibly dreamed of is the Lord Jesus Himself? For seek first the Kingdom of God, and everything shall be addded to you. Don’t go after what is visible, but reach the invisible, for what is visible will passed away, but the invisible, that is the Lord and His Word, will never be passed!
I don’t know if this message can reach you or have an impact as I wish it to have. But I was just writing what the Lord has put in my heart to write. The situations and conditions of the churches nowadays is quite concerning for me, and I pray to God so that there will be another new Wave to refresh all of this situations. I certainly hope this message can reach you and touch you, for the Lord Almighty loves you so very much. Be refreshed now 🙂
