Just Let Him have His Way

John 21:1-12

After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself:

Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.”

And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.
But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish.

Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.

Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”

Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” — knowing that it was the Lord.

Sometimes, God’s way for us is kind of weird and doesn’t make any sense. Just like in this chapter; the boys were all out for that night but they came back to the shore with empty hands. A total waste of energy and time. But then there was a Stranger told them to throw the net near the shore. If we think about it, in order to catch a lot of large fish we need to go a lot further into the sea. But the Man told them to throw the net near the shore, and they caught 153 large fishes.

What I got from this chapter is that, don’t ever question God’s way for us in this life; we just need to trust in Him, and this is where faith comes along. Remember, faith means just respond to Him, coming to Him. So much of the Lord’s message to us is come and come to Him. Jesus also said ‘Come’ in verse 12. He really love it when we come to Him πŸ™‚

Secondly, from verse 11, we know that they got 153 fishes. Before, they brought out empty net; but then after the Man asked them to throw the net near the shore, large fishes were caught. What I got from this is that God is there with them in Tiberias. God is there with the boys when they were having a tough daily life. God is there with us. He is Immanuel remember?

Thirdly, what I got from this chapter is that the first one to recognize the Stranger as Jesus Christ is the beloved disciple of Jesus Christ. And so, in order for the veil in our eyes that prevent us to see the glory of God with all the wondrous works in our lives to be opened and so that the Kingdom of God be revealed to us, we need to be intimate with God Himself. With Lord Jesus Christ. To be intimate can also mean to become one with Him. He lives in us and we lives in Him, His Word lives in us and whatever we asked in our prayers will be granted by the Lord. In order for this to happen, we need His sacrifice. We need His Flesh and Blood, for His Flesh is real food and His Blood is real drink.

Hope this can refresh your soul πŸ™‚

God or Men

http://hd-wallpaper.org/10__Candlelight%2C_Water_Flame_Fantasy.htm

Jeremiah 17:5

Thus says the LORD: ” Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.

When we look at this verse, we tend to think that this verse isn’t for us. We tend to think that we have trusted God with all we have and not trusting in other men for our source of strength, hope, and even salvation.

But, people also tend to forget that every little thing that happens in our lives can become our downfall in this verse. Try this for example:

Let’s just say you are a university student, and you have an important exams coming up. Of course you’re going to study a lot harder than before. But then, you only rely on your own wits and brain, and not counting in God for the exams. Of course you still have to study hard, but don’t ever forget to count on God for your studies. If you only rely on your own wits, your flesh is your strength. If this happens, you can get tired either physically nor spiritually. Just imagine when your body doesn’t get enough water. The body will be weakened. The same thing applies to your spirit, and the spirit craves food and water from Jesus Christ. Take a look at this verse:

John 7:38

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

And Jesus also said in John 4:14

but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

You see, that was just one example. There are still a lot of examples in our daily lives that can become our downfall. We should do our part as best as we can for God in every activities we do, and let God do His part in bringing strength and victory for us. Be very refreshed πŸ™‚

Today’s Troubles Sufficient!?

Matthew 6:34

http://biologos.org/uploads/static-content/lily_orange.jpg

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I want to share this with you guys, especially those of you who always, and I mean always, worried about every single thing in this life.

At some part in our lives, we are all a total believer. When someone asked us, ‘do you believe that Jesus Christ has saved you?’ Then we will definitely answer yes. But when someone asked us, ‘do you believe that Jesus Christ will help you out of the mess in your office? Or in your family?’ Then somehow we’d think twice before answering.

From my own experience, we can be a really good believer at one part of our lives, but we are all sucks and have too little faith in another. We are not worried about our own eternal lives, but we are worried over such trivial things like food or clothes or money.

Matthew 6:25-33

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;

and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

It’s true that money, food, clothes, shelter, etc are important aspects in our lives. They’re all our primary needs in this world. And since they were so primary, do you think God didn’t know? But first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all our primary needs and also secondary needs will be added to our charts.

If they’re so primary and vital to our lives, do you think God will not provide? When first Adam and Eve fell to the grasp of sin, God Himself fulfill their needs with clothes. God Himself do this for them, because Adam and Eve were ashamed of their nakedness. Do you think that the same God will not do the same for us? For you? He is more than capable to do that! He is more capable than any of the world’s offer. He is everything we need. He is the Great I AM. He is our Salvation, Redeemer, Best Friend, Best Dad, Best Mom, He is completely everything we need and desire.

Just remember of His goodness and mercy and grace in our lives. How great He is in helping us with every bit of a problem in our lives. Always remember every miracle He gave! Remember, today that we can still live and breathe is the grace of the Lord Jesus Himself. Remember all these, seek Him through worship, not only with our songs but also with every aspects of our lives, and be refreshed πŸ™‚

I work hard for Him, but He against me!?

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kLA_iRo42wg/TO9giaPoVgI/AAAAAAAAAiE/QcruiI8g7D8/s1600/hard+work.gif

Revelation 2:3-5

and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.
Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place — unless you repent.

I want to share this to all of you, and also, especially, to those who have ministered Him at the church or elsewhere.

At first, serving Jesus and the congregation of the church seems to be a really pleasing thing to do. We do all the work with a joyful heart every Sunday, or probably for some other people, on week days also. All we want to do is more and more and more.

But then there will come a time where everything turns from beautiful and joyful into something routine and monotone; and as a result, we start to sigh in our hearts about the ministry and about all the people involved in our ministry. This happened to me after I served at the church every Sunday and on week days continuously for about three to four years. Everything turns to be boring and I was just doing any of the work so that I won’t get scolded by my leader or even to please them.

And then God scolded me and gave me the verses above that I’ve written. It’s not about what we do or anything. We are saved only because of His mercy and grace towards us, not our works. Also, it is useless for us to do all the labor for His sake without putting Love in it. We need to always remember and keep the First Love sensation in our ministry, and in our daily work. Remember, among faith, hope, and love, the greatest of these is Love. And also remember that when we minister at the church, just look and depend on God alone, not the people; because people will let us down but God will not. For it is written curse be the man who depend on other men.

For me, I always remember the feeling of First Love towards Him by always remembering His goodness and every bit of miracles He has done for me; starting from the smallest to the most incredible miracle that he has performed for the likes of me. And because He has showed Love and mercy towards me, I also shows love and mercy towards other people in my ministry. That’s what God wants. To love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might; and to love each other as you love yourself. Hope this will bless you in your daily work and ministry. Remember, always do all the work as if it is for God, and be refreshed πŸ™‚

Oil and Wine

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_e3JHbJpnLDM/Sw0GJklpJII/AAAAAAAAAIg/DlLY01qtcyo/S240/oil+wine.jpg

We have learned more about Anointing Oil, and the power and the true meaning of Holy Communion from the past few posts. Now I want to talk about the effects and application of both the Oil (Anointing Oil) and the Wine (Blood of Jesus; His sacrifice at the cross).

Revelation 6:6

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

As requested, I’m going to talk more about Jesus’ sacrifice (His Flesh and Blood) and also about the Power he gave to us.

For you information, a denarius is a man’s pay for one whole day. A quart of wheat is a man’s one time meal. Barley has a much lower quality than wheat. So, this verse means that a man’s one time meal is worth that man’s pay for one day. Basically speaking, the man can only eat once a day. This represents the nowadays condition, where crisis and economic recession is everywhere!

But, God give us the solution. It is written, “and do not harm the oil and the wine”. So, for those who are anointed with His Holy Oil and the Holy Spirit came upon them, and also for those who receive His Flesh and His Blood, we will not be harmed at the End of the Age. Remember and refresh your mind with this:

John 6:53-56

Then Jesus said to them, β€œMost assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

And:

John 15:7

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Also:

Judges 9:9

Β But the olive tree said to them, ‘ Should I cease giving my oil, With which they honor God and men, And go to sway over trees?’

These verses are truly beautiful. God gives us the solution in which we can survive the tests he has prepared for this world. By receiving His Flesh and Blood, we live in Jesus and Jesus lives in us; His Word lives in us. And He said ask whatever you desire, and it shall be done for you! Then with Anointing Oil, we are honoring God, we are pleasing God, and God will be glorified; since Anointing Oil also honoring men, men are honored to be the salt and light of the world. So that the whole world may see Christ in us, see the prove from God, and repent.

Christ lives in us, and we live in Him. We are His ambassadors on this earth, and God, with His Anointment of Holy Spirit, will give the world prove of His chosen people; that is, for those who receive His Oil (Anointment of Power and Holy Spirit) and Wine (Blood of Jesus, His sacrifice at the cross). And to give all the world prove about God’s chosen people and that Jesus is the God Almighty, we won’t be harmed by all those sicknesses, illnesses, recession, and also the devil. This is the Truth from the Bible!

Christ is the main vine and we are the branches. Whoever lives in Him will be fruitful, and whoever lives outside Him will not be fruitful and be thrown away because outside him we can’t do anything (reference John 15:5-6)

So, to live in Him, we need to receive His Flesh and Blood. To be the salt and light of this world, to be the ambassador of Heaven, and to give the world prove that Lord Jesus is very cool and great and powerful, we need His Power and Anointment of Holy Spirit. Be refreshed πŸ™‚

The True Pain at The Cross

http://www.turnbacktogod.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/Calvary-Cross-Pics-0508.jpg

Luke 23:33

And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.

Do you know how exactly people died at the cross back then? Do you know what kind of people that deserve this kind of ‘sadness’? Well, I know and that really touch my heart. So, I want to share this with you guys.

Check this, Luke 22:44

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

This is when Jesus knew that he was about to be captured. His sweat turned into blood because His blood vessels in the head were all broken due to a high stress level.

First of all, before Jesus was tortured and crucified, He already know what’s about to happen to Him and He was so stressful. Then He was tortured and crucified at the cross. Here’s what it feels like at the cross:

When someone was being crucified, that person dies slowly and painfully. He would be suffocated due to the weight of gravity, just like when one was drowning, he must be staying on the surface to fill his lungs again. So, his feet and legs or knees were the most important part to stay alive because they would give him the strength to stay on the surface and breathe again.

Can you imagine being drowned slowly and painfully? Slowly, waiting for your death to come without being able to fill in your lungs with a bit of fresh air? Slowly, for hours to come, not being able to breathe properly, with nails sticking to your hands and feet? Without food, water, and with body full of wounds? Jesus gone through that for us!

Also, if a Sabbath day was about to come, a person that hadn’t died at the cross would be hit by a club or anything hard enough at the knees to break the most important part for the crucified. The knees and legs, so that he wouldn’t be able to ‘stay on the surface’ and breathe. He would be suffocated to death slowly and painfully. And the body of a man, who had not died when the Sabbath day approached (it was Friday at 6 pm back then) he would be left behind at the cross, and his body would be the food of crows. This is truly horrible. That’s why Jesus had died before the Sabbath day came, and His knees weren’t destroyed. So that, Jesus’ body won’t get left behind.

You see, this is why the crucifixion is only for the worst people in society; for the worst criminals ever. And Jesus gone through all those hardships for us. For you guys. Think about this for a moment. Think, of how Jesus, of how God the Father loves you so very much. That He let Lord Jesus suffered all that. That Jesus Christ is willing to suffer and die for you. For the likes of me. For all our dirt and sins. This really touch my heart, to know of how Jesus really is in love with us. With you. So just think about His sacrifice for you, think about all his love and warmth and smiles and touches and lessons that he give, and be refreshed.

The Power, The Promise, The Life

I just want to share some beautiful verses today with you guys. And, believe me, it’s a life-changing one!

http://handsfrozentothesword.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/communion.jpg

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;

and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

Also, check out this one:

John 6:51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

And:

John 6:53-56

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Jesus’ flesh is real food and His blood is real drink! He died at the cross for us. He was pierced, crucified, and suffered at the cross so that we may receive His flesh and blood; that we may be saved from the torment He experienced. So that we may live healthily now and then. He said do this as a remembrance of Me. So, every time we have our Holy Communion, we remember His sacrifice at the cross. We remember that He replaced us back then so that we may not die horribly like that. And with this Holy Communion, we live in Him and He lives in us. His Word lives in us and whatever we ask in our prayers shall be granted by Father. But then do remember this verse as well:

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

So, when you receive His flesh and His blood, understand that we proclaim His death till He comes! This Holy Communion has Power and devils are afraid of Jesus’ Blood. This is His Promise to each and everyone of us. This is the everlasting Life He offers! That through His sacrifice, through His Blood, we are saved and refreshed πŸ™‚
