I work hard for Him, but He against me!?

Revelation 2:3-5

and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.
Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place — unless you repent.

I want to share this to all of you, and also, especially, to those who have ministered Him at the church or elsewhere.

At first, serving Jesus and the congregation of the church seems to be a really pleasing thing to do. We do all the work with a joyful heart every Sunday, or probably for some other people, on week days also. All we want to do is more and more and more.

But then there will come a time where everything turns from beautiful and joyful into something routine and monotone; and as a result, we start to sigh in our hearts about the ministry and about all the people involved in our ministry. This happened to me after I served at the church every Sunday and on week days continuously for about three to four years. Everything turns to be boring and I was just doing any of the work so that I won’t get scolded by my leader or even to please them.

And then God scolded me and gave me the verses above that I’ve written. It’s not about what we do or anything. We are saved only because of His mercy and grace towards us, not our works. Also, it is useless for us to do all the labor for His sake without putting Love in it. We need to always remember and keep the First Love sensation in our ministry, and in our daily work. Remember, among faith, hope, and love, the greatest of these is Love. And also remember that when we minister at the church, just look and depend on God alone, not the people; because people will let us down but God will not. For it is written curse be the man who depend on other men.

For me, I always remember the feeling of First Love towards Him by always remembering His goodness and every bit of miracles He has done for me; starting from the smallest to the most incredible miracle that he has performed for the likes of me. And because He has showed Love and mercy towards me, I also shows love and mercy towards other people in my ministry. That’s what God wants. To love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might; and to love each other as you love yourself. Hope this will bless you in your daily work and ministry. Remember, always do all the work as if it is for God, and be refreshed πŸ™‚

Oil and Wine

We have learned more about Anointing Oil, and the power and the true meaning of Holy Communion from the past few posts. Now I want to talk about the effects and application of both the Oil (Anointing Oil) and the Wine (Blood of Jesus; His sacrifice at the cross).

Revelation 6:6

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

As requested, I’m going to talk more about Jesus’ sacrifice (His Flesh and Blood) and also about the Power he gave to us.

For you information, a denarius is a man’s pay for one whole day. A quart of wheat is a man’s one time meal. Barley has a much lower quality than wheat. So, this verse means that a man’s one time meal is worth that man’s pay for one day. Basically speaking, the man can only eat once a day. This represents the nowadays condition, where crisis and economic recession is everywhere!

But, God give us the solution. It is written, “and do not harm the oil and the wine”. So, for those who are anointed with His Holy Oil and the Holy Spirit came upon them, and also for those who receive His Flesh and His Blood, we will not be harmed at the End of the Age. Remember and refresh your mind with this:

John 6:53-56

Then Jesus said to them, β€œMost assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

John 15:7

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Judges 9:9

Β But the olive tree said to them, ‘ Should I cease giving my oil, With which they honor God and men, And go to sway over trees?’

These verses are truly beautiful. God gives us the solution in which we can survive the tests he has prepared for this world. By receiving His Flesh and Blood, we live in Jesus and Jesus lives in us; His Word lives in us. And He said ask whatever you desire, and it shall be done for you! Then with Anointing Oil, we are honoring God, we are pleasing God, and God will be glorified; since Anointing Oil also honoring men, men are honored to be the salt and light of the world. So that the whole world may see Christ in us, see the prove from God, and repent.

Christ lives in us, and we live in Him. We are His ambassadors on this earth, and God, with His Anointment of Holy Spirit, will give the world prove of His chosen people; that is, for those who receive His Oil (Anointment of Power and Holy Spirit) and Wine (Blood of Jesus, His sacrifice at the cross). And to give all the world prove about God’s chosen people and that Jesus is the God Almighty, we won’t be harmed by all those sicknesses, illnesses, recession, and also the devil. This is the Truth from the Bible!

Christ is the main vine and we are the branches. Whoever lives in Him will be fruitful, and whoever lives outside Him will not be fruitful and be thrown away because outside him we can’t do anything (reference John 15:5-6)

So, to live in Him, we need to receive His Flesh and Blood. To be the salt and light of this world, to be the ambassador of Heaven, and to give the world prove that Lord Jesus is very cool and great and powerful, we need His Power and Anointment of Holy Spirit. Be refreshed πŸ™‚

The True Pain at The Cross

Luke 23:33

And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.

Do you know how exactly people died at the cross back then? Do you know what kind of people that deserve this kind of ‘sadness’? Well, I know and that really touch my heart. So, I want to share this with you guys.

Check this, Luke 22:44

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

This is when Jesus knew that he was about to be captured. His sweat turned into blood because His blood vessels in the head were all broken due to a high stress level.

First of all, before Jesus was tortured and crucified, He already know what’s about to happen to Him and He was so stressful. Then He was tortured and crucified at the cross. Here’s what it feels like at the cross:

When someone was being crucified, that person dies slowly and painfully. He would be suffocated due to the weight of gravity, just like when one was drowning, he must be staying on the surface to fill his lungs again. So, his feet and legs or knees were the most important part to stay alive because they would give him the strength to stay on the surface and breathe again.

Can you imagine being drowned slowly and painfully? Slowly, waiting for your death to come without being able to fill in your lungs with a bit of fresh air? Slowly, for hours to come, not being able to breathe properly, with nails sticking to your hands and feet? Without food, water, and with body full of wounds? Jesus gone through that for us!

Also, if a Sabbath day was about to come, a person that hadn’t died at the cross would be hit by a club or anything hard enough at the knees to break the most important part for the crucified. The knees and legs, so that he wouldn’t be able to ‘stay on the surface’ and breathe. He would be suffocated to death slowly and painfully. And the body of a man, who had not died when the Sabbath day approached (it was Friday at 6 pm back then) he would be left behind at the cross, and his body would be the food of crows. This is truly horrible. That’s why Jesus had died before the Sabbath day came, and His knees weren’t destroyed. So that, Jesus’ body won’t get left behind.

You see, this is why the crucifixion is only for the worst people in society; for the worst criminals ever. And Jesus gone through all those hardships for us. For you guys. Think about this for a moment. Think, of how Jesus, of how God the Father loves you so very much. That He let Lord Jesus suffered all that. That Jesus Christ is willing to suffer and die for you. For the likes of me. For all our dirt and sins. This really touch my heart, to know of how Jesus really is in love with us. With you. So just think about His sacrifice for you, think about all his love and warmth and smiles and touches and lessons that he give, and be refreshed.

The Power, The Promise, The Life

I just want to share some beautiful verses today with you guys. And, believe me, it’s a life-changing one!

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;

and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

Also, check out this one:

John 6:51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

John 6:53-56

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

Jesus’ flesh is real food and His blood is real drink! He died at the cross for us. He was pierced, crucified, and suffered at the cross so that we may receive His flesh and blood; that we may be saved from the torment He experienced. So that we may live healthily now and then. He said do this as a remembrance of Me. So, every time we have our Holy Communion, we remember His sacrifice at the cross. We remember that He replaced us back then so that we may not die horribly like that. And with this Holy Communion, we live in Him and He lives in us. His Word lives in us and whatever we ask in our prayers shall be granted by Father. But then do remember this verse as well:

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

So, when you receive His flesh and His blood, understand that we proclaim His death till He comes! This Holy Communion has Power and devils are afraid of Jesus’ Blood. This is His Promise to each and everyone of us. This is the everlasting Life He offers! That through His sacrifice, through His Blood, we are saved and refreshed πŸ™‚

With Oil??

James 5:14,15

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Anointing Oil is very powerful! This Holy Oil is used to honor God and also to honor men. The reference is in Judges 9:8-9, which said, “The trees once went forth to anoint a king over them. And they said to the olive tree, ‘ Reign over us!’ But the olive tree said to them, ‘ Should I cease giving my oil, With which they honor God and men, And go to sway over trees?’

God is honored and men is also honored with this Anointing Olive Oil. Men are honored! This means that all our diseases will be healed by our Jesus Christ, and all our problems will be answered by Him in due time! It’s not God’s plan for you if you’re always sick all the time and hopeless. Jesus had suffered all kinds of sicknesses at the cross. He had died at a young age so that we may not die young. He was hungry and thirsty at the cross so that we may not hunger and thirst anymore. He had suffered sins and punishment so that we will not suffer anymore. So that we can receive Eternal Life freely! And just before He died, He said that it is finished. It means that all our diseases, our problems, our hunger and thirst, and all our sins had been finished once and for all at the cross! And we can receive His power through this Anointment of Holy Spirit too. How amazing is that!

In addition to this, demons are afraid of this Anointment too. Mark 6:13 said, “And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” Demons are afraid with this Anointing Oil because this Anointment has power! And so, we can relax a bit because we won’t be defeated by the opposite side.Β  We won’t fall victim to hypnotism, we won’t fall for the devil’s attempt to destroy us, and we won’t succumb to illnesses that the wicked one has prepared. This is the power that God Jesus Christ has planned for us!

And so, if you happens to have any diseases at all or if you, by any chance, have any hereditary diseases (which can also occurred because of curses from generations ago) you can mention them to God Jesus, anoint yourself with Anointing Oil, believe in the power of Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross, and be refreshed πŸ™‚

Your deeds count? Uh oh…

Ephesians 2:8,9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Eternal life that God has offered is a gift from God. We cannot get or buy that with our deeds or money. But, not everyone can have that gift. This happens because sin is in the way. Mankind have all sinned. With our own power, we cannot save ourselves; because God is perfect, and he requires perfection. That’s why, there must be a solution.

Most people have a wrong understanding about who God really is. Some thought that God is full of love, but no justice at all. But then, some also thought that God is a just God, but no love. The truth about God is that He is both love and just. But then, if God is full of love, surely he doesn’t want to punish the sinful people. However, God must also be just. This dilemma is solved when God shows his love and justness through the sacrifice of Himself in Jesus Christ.

Jesus is God who became Human. He was pierced, hung, and died at the cross for all our sins. Then he raised at the third day, and then, after He showed Himself to the disciples and others, went up to the heaven. He offers an everlasting life to us because He has defeated death, and He has ransomed all of us. And we can receive this gift by faith.

Faith means to know and depend on Jesus as our God and personal Savior to receive an eternal life. And to have faith really just means to respond to His call, to His teachings, to His love, to His grace. Hebrews 4:16 said, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”.Β  I also believe that the simplest way to come to God is by worshiping Him. Worship Him, not only with our voices and singing, but also with our lives.

Sure we need to do good stuff and all, but not to buy our own way to heaven. Remember, salvation is a gift from our God Jesus Christ. And so, you can all share this food with relatives or friends and be refreshed πŸ™‚

The I AM?

Exodus 3:14

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

This verse is really wonderful! The God I AM is really The Alpha and The Omega. God revealed himself here as The Great I AM. And, notice a few verses from The Book of John.

John 6:51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

John 8:23

And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

John 8:58

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

John 10:9

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

John 10:11

“IΒ  am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

John 11:25

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 15:1

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

Now, notice the words I am from all those verses. The Great I AM God really is Jesus Himself. He wants to tell us that the answer to our problems is Jesus. No matter how insurmountable the odds are, no matter what disease you have, no matter the circumstances are, Jesus is whatever you need Him to be! He is The Great I AM. I AM everything you need!

The key to your trust is not who you are or the attempt to improve yourself. But it’s who He really is; and who Jesus really is is everything you need Him to be. He is your redemption, He is your salvation, He is your answer to everything, He is your partner, He is your Life, He is your dad, He is your mother, He is your brother, He is your best friend, He is your Healer, He is your comforter, He is Immanuel – God who lives within us! So, whenever you are confused and all worked up with all your problems and odds, you can apply this I AM principle and be refreshed πŸ™‚

PS: Inspiration for this post is from Pastor Judah Smith’s sermon (Risky Business). He’s really a cool and an inspiring preacher of God πŸ™‚

I have faith, but how come I can’t walk on my water?

Matthew 14:22-33

In these verses, Jesus’ disciples were in the middle of the sea whilst Jesus was on the mountain behind to pray all by Himself. Giant waves tossed the boys’ boat and crazy wind blew so very strongly. All of them are very scared. But then, they became even more troubled when seeing a Man walking on water in the middle of the night. They thought that Jesus was a ghost. But then Jesus immediately said, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.

Then, Peter asked Jesus to command him to walk on water so that he can come to Jesus.Β  And Jesus said, “Come“. But then after seeing all the turbulence and the raging waves, he cowered before them and began to losen his faith. And so, Peter started to sink and cried to Jesus for help. Then Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and caught Peter. Then He said, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” [Take a note of those Italic words or sentences].

Most of the times, people tend to be like Peter. At one part of their lives, they totally believe in God. But then at some other businesses in their lives, they’re all anxious and worried. And then, people will start thinking more toward the problems instead of the answers, and they’ll start to over reacting toward the problems. Don’t be too occupied with the low level of trust! Because the key to grow the trust to Him, is to see who Jesus really is.

Just like in our day to day lives. When we face our darkest hour in this life, or even when you reach to a certain point when you finally say, “Where is God?”, do understand that our God, is a Faithful God. When you can’t come to Him, He’ll come to you. Your God, your King, your Savior, your Best Friend Ever, your Coolest Dad, will always, and I mean always, come to you. Sometimes He let us be and ignore us for a reason; that is, to prepare us to receive His full blessings, and to be more like Him. He teaches the children He cares about!

So much of Jesus’ message to us is Come. Faith really is very simple, for simple people like all of us. Faith really means just come to Him. Respond to His call, respond to His Grace. Of course Peter had faith, and so all of us. But sometimes, when we can’t walk on our water, we just have too little trust, and too occupied with the problems. But I want to tell you guys something. Let us be preoccupied with Jesus! So, if it happens that you’re struggling to cross your water, just remember these verses and be refreshed πŸ™‚

Is it Dark Ahead?

Psalms 23:1,2

Jesus The Shepherd

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

I want to share these two beautiful verses with you guys. These have remarkably changed my way of thinking about my life. There was a time when I always worrying about every little thing of my life. What am I suppose to do? How am I going to face anyone? Why is my future so dark and empty? Stuff like that. I felt so empty back then and I didn’t know what to do with it. Family problems were so intense back then too. And so, since I didn’t know what else to do with everything, I decided to play a computer game in my laptop.

Sure I had a great time playing, but then, my mind was somewhere else. I couldn’t stop thinking and worrying about my own dark days ahead of me. Then suddenly, there was a single, short sentence appeared on the screen of my laptop. It was Psalms 23. I was so surprised back then. I opened my bible, and the content of God’s Word here really made me cried out with joy. He answered me and assured me that there is future filled with hope in Jesus! Jesus is the good Shepherd. Anyone who depend on Him won’t be disappointed. So, just take your time and refresh your soul with these verses πŸ™‚

Hitting a Wall?

Hit the Wall

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the LORD. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.

I really love this. And speaking of this verse, I remember that this also appeared on the Soul Surfer movie. One of the best movies I’ve ever watched! There’s a saying I really like from that movie too. It was something like this:

If you look at things too close, you may not understand or be able to see it clearly to know what’s really happening. So if you happens to hit a wall on your life, try to look at a different perspective, and refresh your soul with this verse πŸ™‚
